The July 2013 working weekend photos

A view of the underside of the grate after the rear grate sections have been rotated to allow the rocking arms to offset to the right rather than as it is to the left. Photo: Laurence Armstrong
The rear grate section from out of №133. This looks to be an almost new casting (the missing finger is where one of two other castings slot into place to make the casting either a front or rear section). Photo: Laurence Armstrong
Inside №133's firbox showing a centre grate section lifted out. On №134 this will be rotated round by 180deg so as the visible operating arm will be offset to the right rather than the left. T will allow the rear section of the grate to be rocked seperately from the front section. Photo: Laurence Armstrong
Another view of the front pony truck safety bar. There is quite a big gap to be filled here as the bar was cut off when we dismantled the loco. Photo: Laurence Armstrong

An axlebox trail fitted to evaluate the lubrication scheme. Photo: Laurence Armstrong
Repairing damage where the rear cross-bracing was in place whilst the rear frame stretcher was only tacked in place. Photo: Laurence Armstrong

Replacing the front pony truck safety bar. This prevents the pont truck dropping when the loco is lifted by the main frame lifting points. Photo: Laurence Armstrong
