- 18th January 2021 - With
the Covid-19 outbreak continuing to cause havoc around the world, it
also continues to disrupt our progress on NG15 №134. Things have been
happening behind the scenes however, and hopefully 2021 will see
us being able to get back on site at some point, something that we've
no been able to do since February 2020. A fuller account of our plans
are now
available on the 'Latest
News' page.
- 20th March 2020 - As is
the case with much of UK, indeed of the world today, restrictions
associated with the Covid-19 virus outbreak means our progress
on
NG15-134 is currently being severely affected.
The
government's advice on travel restricts us so as we are unable to
travel to the railway to work on the loco, and also the Railway
itself is postponing volunteer run activities. Quite understandable as
they do need to protect their full time staff in these difficult times.
As
soon as the situation eases then we will update the website with
amended dates for working parties. At this stage, however, the March
working party is cancelled and that in April could most likely be
cancelled. After that it is difficult to predict, however with the
government talking of a 12 week period of restrictions that would also
mean our May weekend is in jeopardy.
Work has not completely stopped however, as
the full time staff will try and move the project forward as and when
effort is available in the workshops. Also the odd homeworking project
is also ongoing as can be seen below with some oil pot covers for the
pony truck axle boxes being made.

truck axle box oil pot covers for the rear truck.
As soon as more information is available, or when there's an update of
further progress in other areas, we'll let you know.
