One of the Krauss-Helmholtz side control springs for the pivot assembly. We received these in time for the last working party, however, the saddle had been assembled the wrong way round. This was quickly rectified by the manufacturer and returned to us.

We cleaned the main steam pipe from the regulator to the front tube plate and after removing all the scale it was unfortunately found to be in very poor condition. It also looked as if it had previously repaired with a welded internal sleeve, however some the material from the repair was part of the scale we removed!
